The Packers…can they do it?
It will be approching that time of year again where one of the biggest american competitions of the year is coming….the Super Bowl! Last year ended well for the Packers, Aaron Rodgers getting MVP of the game, throwing a couple of TDs, an interception for Nick Collins, who ran it for the touchdown. No doubt, the Steelers still put on one heck of a fight, only under by a few points, but they still couldn’t stand up to the amazing offense and defense shown by the Packers. But the question comes around, can Green Bay do it again?
Green Bay, with an amazing overall of 12 for 0 in this years season, battling their way through weeks 1-12, and appearing unstoppable. However, could Green Bay meet their match, as the super bowl comes closer with every week. No doubt, i think they can do it, as will every fan watching as these players plough on undefeated.
Next week, Green Bay will battle it out with the Oakland Raiders, and hopefully leading for a standing of 13-0, and remaining the top of the league.
Aaron Rodgers, showing an amazing leadership with the team, and an amazing QB. This possibly being one of their best seasons since 1996, when they won the Super Bowl with Brett Favre leading them as Aaron Rodgers does now. I, as shall many of you be waiting for the final moments of this season, watching as Aaron Rodgers hoists the cup and lead the team to another well earned victory.
21st Century Tools
Hey everyone! As one of our last blogging projects this year we are supposed to make a list of tools that we have used this year.
- Youtube
- Animoto
- Kioza
- Vocaroo
- Vimeo
- Windows Movie Maker
- Prezi
- Wikispaces
- Elluminate
- Wordle
- Digo
- Edublogs
- Skype
I think that the ones that I find most useful are Youtube, animoto and Edublogs. Youtube because people can share ideas with each other. There are millions of people on Youtube every day so that means that a lot of people will see your video.
Animoto because it is another tool that is visual that you can share on blogs, facebook and other pages that people can access. It is another great site that you can share ideas with, to an extent.
And then there is edublogs. You can put up your own ideas, post all kinds of videos and stories, which other people can share so it is soon passed all over the world. Also, other people can comment, give you ideas and share there own ideas so that you can add on to your own blog.
I like most of these tools that we have used throughout the year. The one that I dislike the most is Vocaroo, because I hate the way my voice sounds recorded. It seems kind of annoying to hear my voice recorded.
I think that some of these skills will be good in high school because, we might have a teacher like the networked student and have to learn these skills. Also, the skills would be harder to learn if you don’t know how to use some of the tools that we have been learned to use this year. It would certainly be a lot easier on me if I learned how to use Digo and Skype. For example, with Skype and Digo, I could share knowledge and learn from others.

Anything Different?
Hey everyone! As our last post of the year we are writing about how different our first post is from our latest one and write about the differences in our writing that we want the teacher to notice, like punctuation, spelling and how our paragraphs are structured.
I want my teacher to notice how my spelling has gotten better. My spelling in the beginning of the year was pretty bad. I made a lot of spelling mistakes and and mixed up there and their.
My teacher says that my writing has improve a lot more than my spelling. She says that my sentences flow a lot nicer than they did at the beginning of the year. At the beginning of the year my writing went around my ideas, not with them. So I will say that my spelling and writing are both #1 on my list.
My writing has improved a lot and I will try and keep my blog updated over the summer, which will probably make my writing even better. I am going to the States so I should have a lot to write about.

New years Resolutions!! Part 2?
Hello Readers! For this post we have to write about our resolutions and see if we followed up on any of our resolutions. Most of my resolutions I have been doing. I have been buying more fair trade and I have stood up to a bully since I made the resolution.
Another one of my resolutions was to recycle more. I have kind of been doing that but not as much as I wanted so I’m kind of half way there. Then my last resolution was to pick up garbage whenever I saw some. That one I have been doing some as well, but it is kind of the same thing as the recycling. It is kind of the same thing as the recycling. So I am halfway there.
Nothing has really contributed to my success or of fails. Mainly in my fails I have just haven’t really paid attention. In my success I have just noticed that I haven’t been doing it or I just do it automatically.
I guess that all of my resolutions are important to me but I just don’t really follow up on them. I am not really sure if I am going to complete all of these by the end of the year. I am probably going to forget most of them by the end of the year because I am just a kid. But I will work hard to finish them. I don’t really have any new ideas about any resolutions. I might later in the year.

Crash and Boom
Crash,
Boom,
A storm started,
There were waves as big as whales,
The oceans action was like all the battles of Troy,
Constantly fighting.
The waves threw the rocks onto the shore,
The waves wished the the sun would come out
And be flat like a mirror on a calm day,
Mirroring the mountains and the sky.

Moari Mihi
Hi everyone! I am writing this really short post to share my Maori mihi. We are talking to Mr. Webb’s class in New Zealand and are learning how the Maori people traditionally greet each other. Click on the Vocaroo to hear it.

The Comox Valley!!!!
Hi to all those who read my blog! As part of Challenge 3, I get to share information about all the great sights around the Comox Valley.
One thing that a lot of people like here is the glacier. It has been here for hundreds most likely thousands of years. The First Nations people who have lived for centuries in this area know it as Queneesh which is the name of the white whale that saved people from a flood here in one of their legends. Although now mainly it is called the Glacier, not Queneesh.
Another sight is the Courtenay Airpark. Here you can see wildlife, like birds, such as the trumpeter swans that migrate here and some marine animals like seals and Orcas. Mainly it is just the birds that you see though. Throughout the year, these can also be ducks, heron and seagulls.
One of the places that people in the Comox Valley love to go to is Mount Washington. In the winter it is packed with skiers and snowboarders and in the summer there is mountain biking and hiking that goes on there. It is a lot of fun to go up the lifts and see the mountain bikers racing down the mountain. And for skiing it has a snowbase of nearly 600cm at the moment! It’s one of the deepest bases in the world!
In town there aren’t a lot of activities to do, compared to a place like Vancouver. We have a couple of pools, a bowling alley, one main shopping mall and playgrounds. The place that I like most is a teen center. It is a place where teens can go and hang out and go play pool of video games or whatever.
I would have to say that I really like living here. Do you have any more questions about the Comox Valley? Please let me know if you do!

The Earth Hour…
On March 27th there was a global event happening. It’s called Earth Hour. It is a day when everyone in the world turns off their lights for one hour to help with global warming and to bring it to the attention of people around the world. The organizers hope that this world-wide stand against climate change will be noticed by government officials.
This video that I created shows how much light cities use at night. These pictures are of some of the big cities like Vancouver and Las Vegas and how much energy they use at this time of day. It looks like a big waste of electricity.
For me Earth hour was pretty good. My family and I played scrabble most of the time. We completely turned off all of the power so it was really quiet. How was your Earth Hour experience? Let me know. Bye for now!
Challenge yourself to blog/challenge 4.

What price…?
We are part of a big project right now and each of us is making an item to sell. I am making picture frames to sell in our entrepreneur fair. I chose picture frames because my family had most of the supplies that I need to make one. The tools that I have had to use so far is a saw, a mitre box, wood glue, clamps and a measuring tape.
We are making the surveys so that we can get feedback from people on what we should make them look like, like colours, prices, etc. That way we know approximately what people will want. Please answer all of the questions below.
